About Lauren
Lauren is a Registered Dietitian, licensed in the state of Oregon. Prior to becoming a dietitian, Lauren spent many years working in natural food cooperative grocery stores in the Midwest. Working in natural foods was fundamental in initiating Lauren’s early interest in nutrition sciences, as well as her curiosity in food system work.
Lauren’s curiosity led her to Seattle, WA to learn from the naturopathic medicine and whole foods nutrition community of Bastyr University. While in Seattle, Lauren enjoyed taking elective courses on seaweed harvesting, intestinal microbiota and mountain wildcrafting. Lauren earned her RD after the completion of 1200 hours of supervised practice through Oregon Health and Science University’s dietetic internship in Southern Oregon. Living and working in Southern Oregon provided Lauren constitutive experience in providing care to those living in rural communities.
After spending two years practicing with a community hospital on the Oregon Coast, Lauren made the switch to providing care primarily through telehealth. The switch to telehealth has expanded Lauren’s reach as an online provider who aims to provide excellent care to Oregonians who may experience limited health care services due to where they live.
